Scorpio Slew & Ixion ~ 10 Nov 2021

With the season of Scorpio upon us, perhaps this year it feels a bit more fecund... fuller... more stoked and poked than normal. Every year, like with every sign, we enjoy the passage of the Sun, Mercury and Venus through every distinct sign. This year, while the solar passage through Scorpio may not quite offer up a stellium by traditional definition, there’s still a slew in Scorpio.

The current ledger of occupancy in Scorpio notes that Mercury, Mars, the Sun and the proto planet Vesta all have taken up quarters in the sign. Vesta, who has been in the sign since September and who shared the residence with Venus earlier on, prepares to check out. She moves onto Sagittarius on 16 November. Today we feel one of the peak pokes of this year’s solar Scorpionic passage as Mercury and Mars align.

The reminder of Scorpio time every year is to recognize and feel what you feel without justification nor rationalization. It’s time to feel surges that originate deep within and seek positive outlets for those in the real world. Right now, with the Mercury and Mars alignment, the urge to either blurt it all out or act it out dominates sensibilities. Hold that thought.

It’s a curious thing when Scorpio planets find positive self-expression. Reactions range from “Wow, you made (wrote, created, conjured) that?” to “Jeez, I never knew that meant anything to you,” to “Sure, everyone feels like (or longs for) that sometime.”

That’s the universalization Scorpio offers... a feeling from within finally gets presentation to others and is heard, recognized and appreciated by others. Telling others what you need and want without inhibition provides a better chance those urges can be fulfilled. The creative representation of ones passions may present amazing opportunities. These deep inner surges stand as essential for the soul to flourish in life in its fullest manifestation and when recognized, life feels particularly worthwhile.

Now with the Mercury and Mars conjunct today, maybe anything bottled up could bubble out in an impulsive, unthought or seemingly eruptive (disruptive) manner. As an alternative, there’s always the “go out in nature and tell it all on a mountain” approach. Should you not be near a mountain, or if life is in the way, perhaps the journaling approach to get inner urges really clear and precise would do the job. This latter approach consists of writing in a journal the old-fashioned way, not to be archaic about things. This prevents eager articulation on a device where it could zip out into the Internet ethers with the slightest erroneous keystroke. One might ask, if this about using ones passion in the world, what good is doing this all by your lonesome?

Well, Vesta, also stirring the slew of Scorpio, stokes the symbolic hearth. She is a vestal virgin charged with keeping the internal flame fortified and full. She provides light and warmth to the chill that can overtake souls judging the merit of the feelings within. Enjoy the Scorpionic fire. She moves on quickly.

Not only does Vesta move on, so does the Sun and so does Mercury. Before long all of them immigrate to Sagittarius and on 28 November, they all conjoin in Sagittarius. Here, is a time for the full and honest expression of the fire of life passion recently processed, fully felt, and now ready for revelation and the marveling of all those enjoying the display. Process now and for the next fortnight or so. Then, proclaim and present the fruits of all soul urges with soulful glee and optimism.

While that simmers in Scorpio’s skillet, how about a look at this week’s Moon-Venus conjunction in the early degrees of Capricorn? Another stunning, inspiring moment courtesy of the heavens above, and free of charge for all willing to take the time to go out and gaze into the galactic mazes.

What could not be seen that aligned with the Moon in the photo, was the Kuiper Belt Object, Ixion, who in the last few days reentered Capricorn, following a brief stint in the sign earlier this year. Now Ixion remains in Capricorn until February 2039.

In short and to process the mythology into something that helps at the end of the day, Ixion represents the need to savor, respect and completely engage life’s second chances. Ixion, when given a chance for redemption, healing and complete restoration through Jupiter’s graces, blew it. So, when a new chance to grab something good appears before you, graciously accept the circumstances, work them for the maximum benefit for all, and make something amazing from any Capricorn situation that possesses a tinge of déjà vu.

How might that occur? Ixion’s closest point of approach to the Sun dings the ecliptic in Aries. Emphasize the importance to the self of getting this right in the most expedient manner possible. The heliocentric north node of Ixion rises above the zodiac in Gemini. Here is the need for processing data consciously. Connect all dots. Assess all information and consider what was done before versus the desired outcome. Review the similarities to now, and consciously select options that are free of zero-sum thinking and benefit not only the self, but spread benefits upon all those whose sphere you enter as a result of the new, fresh and improved decisions made.

With Scorpio surrounding the consciousness, a healthy dose of that was then and this is actually the future manifesting in the actions of now, offers up guiding decisions while engaging the plot points of life.

More soon.
